Short 10-Point Review of Nectar Mattress

In this short review of Nectar mattress, I will list some of the pros and cons of the mattress.

Sleepopolis, a popular mattress review site tested Nectar Mattresses for firmness, edge support, pressure relief, motion transfer and several other factors.

Here are the 10 things you need to know about Nectar mattresses:

Pros and Cons of Nectar Mattress

1. Material

What is nectar mattress made of? Nectar mattress is a memory foam mattress. It is a bed-in-a-box mattress with a 12-inch profile. The mattress is made of certified form that is free of heavy metals or other harmful chemicals. It is slightly firmer than other memory foam mattress but heavy sleepers might find the bed to be too soft.

2. Firmness

Nectar easily scores a 7 out of 10 on the mattress firmness scale. That puts it just above the industry standard, which is 6.5 for mattress with medium firmness. So, it is not the firmest mattress you will ever find in the market.

Nectar mattress is not the best option for stomach sleepers and they might want to find alternative mattresses.

Heavy back sleepers (130+ pounds) might find Nectar not so supportive.

3. Pain relief

A recent test using a pressure map found that Nectar is good for people with back pain and shoulder pain. However, for those with hip pain, you might need a plusher mattress that offers extra cushioning and sinkage in the hip region.

4. Retail

Where can you but Nectar mattress? You can buy nectar mattress directly from the company by ordering online, with a free delivery in continental America (Alaska and Hawaii excluded).

You can also visit a brick-and-mortar store and talk to these retailers in-person because over 2,000 retailers across the United States stock it.

5. Warranty

Nectar offers a lifetime warranty for the mattress. The warranty covers manufacturing mistakes or defects and visible indentations. This makes it the mattress with the longest warranties out of all brands I’ve known.

The company promises to replace your mattress within the first ten years of use with a brand new one, all at no extra charges.

6. Cooling

Since it is an all-foam mattress, Nectar tends to trap some heat but it has a cooling cover. Nectar features a gel-infused memory foam that will keep the upper part of the mattress cold.

You will not sleep hot by sleeping on Nectar mattress, but I cannot confirm this will be true for everyone. Some people complain about its poor cooling.

7. Motion transfer

Nectar dissipates movement quite fast. However, you will still feel movements of your partner, but not so much that it disturbs your sleep. Unfortunately, light sleepers may not like Nectar due to less motion transfer.

8. Sex

The ideal mattress for sex is one that is bouncy and responsible for free movement. But even with a bounce, couples still need undisturbed sleep at night. Nectar features a great motion isolation, but it may not be the most suitable option for sexually adventurous couples because sinking might make it hard to move flexibly during sex.

9. Edge Support

Nectar holds up on the sides quite well. This will help prevent it from sagging. If you sit at the edge of Nectar mattress, it will collapse, but just a little bit and it still feels secure.

10. Price of Nectar

How much is nectar mattress? The smallest nectar costs $798 while California King size Nectar goes for $1,598. Nectar is relatively affordable compared to other memory foam mattresses. It is a great choice for any budget-savvy person.

If you’re looking to spend less than $1,000, Nectar is not your best option. Just look at how much each Nectar size costs.

SizePrice
Twin$798
Twin XL$968
Full$1,198
Queen$1,298

On a scale of 1 to 10, how many stars would Nectar receive from me? It scores 9.5 out of 10.
